description
MULTILAYER LAMINATED FOIL FOR PACKAGING TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to a multilayer laminated film for packaging.
The present invention also relates to a package by means of a multilayer laminated film according to the invention.
STATE OF THE ART
Easy-to-open packages are becoming more prevalent, especially but not exclusively in the food industry, because of their practicality from the user's point of view and because of their low cost from the manufacturer's point of view.
These packages are usually obtained by laminating laminated films composed of several layers, and sealing them in various manners.
Such multilayer laminated films have regions which are predetermined for tearing, the so-called " easy openings " train when the packaging is packed.
There are various types of films that are equipped with regions that are predetermined for tearing.
A first type is formed by multilayer films comprising a first external layer made of a plastic which is bonded to a second underlying layer made of a metallic material, usually of aluminum.
The first layer has a plurality of continuous and parallel cuts, which carry the (up-) tearing process and obtained by laser or ultrasonic treatment, and which pass completely through said first layer and stop at the second layer, such as usually made of aluminum.
However, these continuous cuts are detrimental to the underlying aluminum as they expose it to ambient humidity and thus rapid aging, which can be fatal to the integrity of the product contained in the package formed from this first sheet.
In addition, the material in which the incisions are provided, must respond well to laser irradiation in order to achieve a good laser treatment, so that not caused by changes in the nature of the layer in the molten areas undesirable modifications of the properties of the film.
Likewise, a second multilayer film has regions that are predetermined for tearing and that have a plurality of holes that are also through holes.
Unlike the continuous cuts, the holes provide better protection for the underlying aluminum, but do not eliminate the problem of its exposure to the outside environment and do not result in tearing in a linear fashion.
There is also known a third type of tear-open packaging in which the tearing-predetermined region is formed by a plurality of substantially parallel cuts that are not completely through, close to each other, and substantially randomly distributed ,
Although these cuts, because they are not continuous cuts, provide protection to the underlying aluminum layer, their random distribution does not ensure that the tearing is easy and along a substantially straight line Path runs.
In addition, these cuts, when obtained by abrasion or mechanical punching, can bring about a dangerous increase in the mechanical fragility of the material. DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION
The object of the present invention is to provide a multilayer laminated film, in particular for " easy-open " Packaging, which solves the problems and disadvantages that reveal the known types of films.
Within this aim, the intention of the present invention is to provide a multilayer laminated film which ensures a substantially rectilinear propagation, in the intended direction, of the tearing of the package in the suitably weakened region.
Another purpose of the present invention is to provide a multilayer laminated film in which the layer of metallic material is always protected from contact with the external environment.
Another purpose of the present invention is to provide a multilayer laminated film which can be torn as easily as the known types of films.
Another purpose of the present invention is to provide a film which can be used in known types of packaging machines.
A still further object of the present invention is to provide a film which can be inexpensively manufactured with known systems and technologies.
This aim, as well as these and other objects, which will become more apparent hereinafter, are achieved by a multilayer laminated film, in particular for tear-resistant packaging, comprising a first layer of plastic and at least one second layer of a material formed of plastic, metallic material, paper-like material or equivalent materials, each layer being bonded to the adjacent layer by means of an intermediate layer of adhesive, the multi-layered laminated film being characterized by being on at least one face the stiffer plastic layer has a plurality of continuous, parallel, side-by-side incisions adapted to impart a reduction in breaking force at right angles to the direction of the cuts, the cuts partially determining the thickness of the stiffer layer and removing them tion of material.

EMBODIMENTS
With reference to the figures, a multilayer film, in particular for tear-open packaging, according to the invention is generally referenced 10 in the figures 1 to 3.
The film consists of a first layer 11 made of plastic and a second layer 12 also made of plastic.
The first layer 11 is in this first embodiment of oriented polypropylene (hereinafter oPP).
The second layer 12 is made of polyethylene (hereinafter PE).
The two layers are interconnected by an intermediate layer 15 of adhesive.
The intermediate layer 15 consists of either a two-component adhesive or extruded polyethylene.
The multilayer laminated film 10 has on at least one of its surfaces of the stiffer plastic layer a plurality of continuous, parallel, juxtaposed incisions 18.
The cuts are individually referenced by reference numerals 18a, 18b, 18c, 18d and 18e.
The cuts 18 are suitable for promoting a substantially straight-line crack propagation of the film 10.
The cuts 18 in part affect the thickness of the stiffer layer.
In this first embodiment, the stiffer layer is the first layer 11 of oPP.
In this embodiment, the cuts 18 are provided in the outer surface 16 of the first layer 11.
The cuts 18 are obtained by material removal.
For the embodiments described herein, the material removal is of a mechanical nature.
Mechanical removal avoids problems with the deterioration of the nature of the layer in the molten areas and avoids the consequent unwanted risks of property changes of the film.
The depth of the cuts 18, 18a, 18b, 18c, 18d and 18e is advantageously in the range between 15 and 85% of the thickness of the layer 11, in which they are introduced formed. Experiments have in fact found that below 15%, the tear direction of the film is not satisfactory, whereas over 85% significantly degrade the mechanical properties of the film 10. *** "
Fig. 2 shows by way of example the crack propagation in the film 10, after a rotational force has been applied, which is suitable to separate the film into two parts by a first part is pulled down and to the right and the second part up and Left; a movement that you usually perform with your fingers when you tear a package in the designated section (on-).
The crack is introduced in the cut 18d and then continues in the cut 18c on.
The parallel alignment of the cuts 18 allows the crack to proceed in a substantially rectilinear direction.
In a modification of the first embodiment, the first layer 11 of an oriented polyester (hereinafter oPET) and the second layer 12 of polypropylene (hereinafter PP) or PE.
In this case, the material having the greater rigidity property is PET, and therefore the sipes 18 are formed in a surface of the first layer 11, in this case the outer surface 16.
The second embodiment according to FIG. 4 schematically shows a foil 110, formed by a first layer 111 of oPP and a second layer 112 of PE or PP.
The first layer 111, which is stronger, has recesses 118 on its inner surface 117.
A third embodiment of a film according to the invention, as shown in FIG. 5, comprises a first layer 211 of oPP or PET, a second layer 212 of aluminum, and a third layer 213 of PE or PP.
The stiffer layer is the first layer 211 of oPP or PET, and thus the sipes 218 are formed on the outer surface 216 of this first layer 211. Since the sipes 18 are not continuous, they allow the second layer Aluminum 212 to protect from the external (external) environment.
Also, in the fourth embodiment of the invention described herein, the film 310 is formed by a first layer 311 of oPP or PET, a second layer 312 of aluminum, and a third layer 313 of PE or PP.
At the first layer 311 317 incisions 308 are formed on the inner surface thereof.
As before, the internal position of the cuts does not interfere with the easy tear of the film, since the layers which form them always have a thickness of the order of a multiple of ten microns.
In a fifth embodiment, which is schematically illustrated in FIG. 7, the film 410 comprises a first layer for oPP or PET, a second layer 412 of PET or oriented polyamide (oPA), and a third layer 113 PP or PE.
The stiffest layer is the second layer 412.
The cuts 418 are formed on its surface 416, which is aligned with the first layer 411.
In a sixth embodiment, the film 510 comprises a first layer 511 of oPP or PET, a second layer 512 of PET or oPA, and a third layer 513 of PP or PE.
This time, the sipes 518 are formed on the second layer 512 on the surface 517 aligned with the third layer 513.
It is sufficient to initiate the breaking of the stiffest layer, even if it is sandwiched between two other layers to achieve tearing of the entire laminated film.
In a seventh embodiment, which is schematically illustrated in FIG. 9, the film 610 is comprised of a first layer 611 of PET, a second layer 612 of aluminum, a third layer of oriented polyamide (oPA) 613, and a fourth layer 614 formed of PP or PE.
Of the four layers contained herein, the third layer 613 of oPA is the stiffest.
Therefore, it is the third layer 613 having the sipes 618, in this example, on its surface 616 which is aligned with the second layer 612 of aluminum.
Likewise, in a fourth embodiment, the film 710 is again formed by a first layer 711 of PET, a second layer 712 of aluminum, a third layer 713 of oPA, and a fourth layer 714 of PP or PE, and has the cuts 718 on a surface of the third layer 713.
In contrast to the previous embodiment, the surface 717 having the cuts is the surface which is aligned with the fourth layer 714 of unoriented polypropylene.
The present invention also relates to a package characterized in that it is formed with a multilayer laminated film according to any one of the preceding claims and has an easily rupturable (easy-open) region.
Such a package is highly valued in the field of wet food sealing because it has the advantages of food preservation with the advantages of easy and easy on-opening cracking and alignment accuracy with which opening occurs. united.
In practice, it has been found that the described invention solves problems described in known types of multilayer laminated films, particularly tear-open or "easy-open" packages.
In particular, the present invention provides a multilayer laminated film which ensures substantially straightforward crack propagation in the intended direction of packaging in the corresponding weakened region.
In addition, the present invention provides a multilayer laminated film in which the layer of a metallic material is always protected from contact with the external environment.
In addition, the present invention provides a multilayer laminated film which can be torn as easily as the known films. Further, the present invention provides a multilayer laminated film which can be inexpensively produced by known systems and technologies.
